Al Jazeera bought Korean children’s animation program

Another news from MIPTV. Al Jazeera bought a Korean kid animation program, HOTUS, in MIPTV. This is the first sale of kid’s program to a Mideastern broadcaster. According to another blogger, HOTUS, targeting preschoolers and named originally ‘Hut on a Slope,’ is an adaptation of Teletubbies in a Korean style. It has four main characters with a scenic natural background. It is an export of repackaged program, as KBS bought program format from BBC in about a million dollar a few years ago, according to another news report. HOTUS is a part of a KBS ambitious project of 2 million dollars, in which the broadcasters chose a few project and gave extensive supports. From the selections of this project, KBS from the inception envisioned this program for international market.

Hey, it's called HUTOS (후토스), not Hotus! ㅋㅋㅋ

But, I didn't know the name came from "hut on a slope". How interesting!
